San Diego was already up for the MLB’s best starting rotation before that move, having pulled off successful trades for All-Star rookies Blake Snell and Yu Darvish one day apart in late December. . The Padres’ planned starting squad now includes Musgrove, Snell, Darvish, Dinelson Lamet and Chris Paddack – alongside talented youngsters Adrian Morejon and MacKenzie Gore – with right-hander Mike Clevinger expected to return in 2022 following Tommy John’s surgery.
