Joel Embiid uses Warriors analogy on Ben Simmons business question

All over the NBA on Monday morning, players step onto the podium as part of their team’s media day. One missing name, however, was Philadelphia 76ers star Ben Simmons.

The three-time All-Star has been adamant about his business demands and is doing what he can to find a new home. While Simmons did not answer questions from the media, his running mate, Joel Embiid, of course had to answer many questions regarding Simmons’ future with the Sixers. And Embiid kind of used the Warriors as a perfect analogy.

“Honestly, we all need to grow up,” Emiid told reporters on Monday. “I look the way – like I understand being in business rumors and all that, but that’s part of the business. If Golden State comes and proposes to Steph [Curry] and Klay [Thompson] for me, do you think the Sixers would say no to that?

“They have to say yes. I would say yes to that, because, I mean, how do you say no to that? That’s what they do. They’re always going to find ways to improve themselves. can’t get mad at It’s just like that. I see it the way you just have to get on with it and you just have to be yourself and do the best job you can. “

Ironically, Simmons has been linked to the Warriors in business rumors.

But don’t expect him to be wearing a Golden State jersey anytime soon.

Based on his salary and his questionable fit alongside Draymond Green as another top forward, Warriors owner Joe Lacob recently suggested Simmons is not a match for the Warriors. Lacob was then fined $ 50,000 for his comments.

Embiid made it clear to the media that he and the rest of the 76ers still want Simmons to be their teammate. He also sent Simmons a clear message.

The ball is now in Simmons’ court, a situation he has shown can go in many different directions.
