In the second period, the Caps went from defense to offense as Oshie let go of Carlson with a quick pass. Carlson yelled on the ice and beat Carter Hutton on the other side of the net.
Carlson led all NHL defensemen in points last season with 75.
TJ Oshie got the assist, his third point of the night.
Oshie collected an assist on Carlson’s goal, his third point of the night (1g, 2a). This is his 33rd career three-point game and his first since November 29, 2019 against Tampa Bay.
