JOHN CENA in talks for THE SUICIDE SQUAD

Wrestler and actor John Cena would be in talks to be part of the cast of writer / director James Gunn The suicide brigadeaccording to Variety.

Cena's role in the discussions was not revealed. The cast already includes Margot Robbie, who takes over his role as Harley Quinn, and Idris Elba, who was originally expected to take the place of Will Smith as the Deadshot assassin of the first film, but who will perform at the place a different character.

Cena would not be the first wrestler played by Gunn in a comic book role. Guardians of the GalaxyDave Bautista had a long WWE career alongside Cena and recently played in Wrestlemania.

The suicide brigade has an expected release date in theaters on August 6, 2021.
