John Cena returned to WWE at MSG to work on a dark match after SmackDown

Although her affair with Roman Reigns ended at Slam summer and it looked like his time with WWE would end there (at least for now), John Cena was still being announced for the special episode of Friday night SmackDown this week at Madison Square Garden. But would he really come back for a show, for which he ultimately wouldn’t even appear on TV?

Yeah!

Cena introduced himself after Smack down came off the air to work a dark match alongside Rey & Dominik Mysterio vs. Roman Reigns & The Usos, which is the same dark match they were working on in the weeks leading up to Slam summer. Cena, naturally, won the victory for his team.

In other news of the dark MSG match, Drew McIntyre vs. Happy Corbin took place, the first winner by disqualification. It was also after the show. Before the show aired, Raw Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair beat Rhea Ripley by submission.

In total, The Garden was treated to a show loaded with stars.
