John Krasinski, co-writer, director and star of A Quiet Place, confirmed that his sequel is in development and that it will be released in May 2020.

Krasinski confirmed it via Twitter, writing "… time to back back. #PartII 5-15-20", confirming the release date of May 15, 2020. This image was accompanied by an image that seems to unfold in the same farm as in the original movie.

Although various reports have indicated that a sequel to A Quiet Place was in preparation and that it would come out on May 15, 2020, it is the first time that Krasinski himself confirms this information. Earlier reports have also claimed that Krasinski would return to write the screenplay, but a new report from Deadline says that he will also come back live and that his wife, Emily Blunt, will resume his role.

However, according to The Hollywood Reporter, Blunt would still be in talks to play in the sequel, just like the children's actors in the first film, Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe. Children would be under option, so at the conclusion of the first movie, Paramount has reserved the right to use them for any follow-up. THR also reports that after the considerable success of A Quiet Place, the budget of the suite will be much higher than the 17 million dollars of the origin.

Krasinski and producers Andrew Form, Brad Fuller and Michael Bay would have opted for a sequel based on one of two options: one focusing on a new aspect of the world and post-apocalyptic creatures of the film, and the another on the continuation of the film. the story that revolves around the mother and children.

In our review of A Quiet Place, we described the film as "Grand": "Tense, loaded and surprisingly satisfying, Krasinski delivers thrills in movie B with legitimate shivers in A Quiet Place.
