John Mulaney is a huge stand-up star who just hosted Saturday Night Live two weeks ago, released a Netflix variety show special last year featuring big names and struck a deal with Comedy Central to create new Sack Lunch Bunch specials. It was announced today that he has a new job – he is joining Late night with Seth Meyers as editor, Variety reports.
The show’s executive producer Mike Shoemaker confirmed the news and shared the new sketch below where he talks about the role of ghosts in politics. “John Mulaney enjoys working so this week he officially joined Late night with Seth Meyers as editor, ”he tweeted. “I hope he stays 100 years, but I’ll settle for ‘as long as John wants”. ”
Mulaney and Meyers have worked together on several occasions, including when Mulaney was a copywriter Saturday Night Live. They also notably worked together on Documentary now!The episode “Co-Op the Musical”.
