The hobby was to be shown in the first film of 2014, probably in the scenes where he lived (quite peacefully) with the adorable puppy that his recently deceased wife had offered him, but had been abandoned during the final cut . But the hobby comes back surprisingly in the very good John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum. At the beginning of the film, a significant sequence takes place in the Rose Main Reading Room at the Fifth Avenue Public Library, which John Wick visits to find a very specific book. He ends up using this book to hit a guy, but you can imagine that this book is one of Wick's projects – or that he really loves Russian literature.
