JoJo Siwa stepped out as a member of the LGBTQ community this weekend.

The 17-year-old children’s star and former “Dance Moms” performer was candid with her fans during an Instagram Live video on Saturday where she confirmed the news she had alluded to days before.

“Personally, I’ve never, never, never been so happy and it’s really great. I’ve been happy for a little while now. It’s so, so, so great,” Siwa told her fans. “You probably haven’t seen me so happy since I’ve been on tour.”

She explained that she didn’t identify as straight, but stopped before putting other labels on herself. Siwa pointed out to her followers that she wasn’t sure exactly where she was with the labels at the moment and didn’t want to apply any while she was still mulling things over.

“I think humans are awesome, I think humans are really amazing people. Right now I’m super happy fool and want to share everything with the world but I also want to keep things in my private life until that they’re ready to be. public. Right now, what matters is that you know that no matter who you like, it’s okay. It’s great and the world is here for you ” she says in the video. “There are so many people out there for you. I know everyone’s situation is different and it might be harder for some people and it might be easier for some people to come out or be themselves, but I think coming out has that stigma around it. – that it’s really, really, really scary, but it’s not anymore. She added that she was aware that there will be people who will criticize her decision to go out. However, she explains that she hopes to send a message to people to value their own happiness over what other people think.
