The final trailer of the movie Joker has arrived and director Todd Phillips takes this character in a very different direction. The crime prince clown will have his original story for the October movie. This film is not part of the cinematic universe of DC. Phillips and his company are therefore free to do what they want in this world. The latest trailer gives us a much better idea of the subject of this movie.
Joker plays the role of Arthur Fleck in Joaquin Phoenix and follows the character in his journey – or perhaps his descent – in order to become one of the most iconic villains in the comics, the titular Joker. Phoenix joins the ranks of César Romero, Jack Nicholson, Mark Hamill, Heath Ledger, Jared Leto and a few others who have portrayed the character, and it seems Phoenix has imposed himself on the Joker. He has his own laugh, his look and his facial expressions translate a character with a lot of inner turmoil. Most importantly, the new trailer gives the impression that the film can be autonomous, without being linked to Batman, because it is more of a character study than a movie about a supervillain.
While we are still waiting for the first reviews, the film will debut at the Venice Film Festival, followed by the Toronto International Film Festival. Cameron Bailey, one of the co-leaders of the latter, has already seen the movie and talked a lot about it.
Joker will be rated R for "violent and bloody violence, disturbing behavior, language and brief sexual images", so do not expect it to be fun for the whole family. The film will be released in theaters on October 4 and although it still remains largely mysterious, we are looking for a preview of the new trailer to see what he can tell us about the origins and motives of Fleck, as well as what we can still watch. forward to in the full movie.
