On Monday night, the Raiders became the first team to require proof of vaccination for all participants in home games in the 2021 season. With the requirement, fans over the age of 12 will not have to wear face masks. inside the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

Asked about the tenure at his Tuesday press conference, Raiders head coach Jon Gruden noted that it should have a positive effect on crowd noise.

“Well, I just support the decisions that are made,” Gruden said. “Every state, every team is probably going to have a different perspective on this. I support the decision that has been taken. I will be looking forward to seeing as many Raider fans as possible without a mask. This is what excites me. They can make more noise that way. But I know this is a touchy subject for a lot of people, but I support the direction in which we are heading. And I encourage everyone I know to get vaccinated and come join us.

The Raiders will have the option for fans who haven’t been vaccinated to receive an injection before a game and then wear a mask inside the building.

The policy comes into effect with the Raiders’ regular season opener on September 13, when the Raiders host the Ravens in week one on Monday night football.
