Jon Jones was not thrilled with a five-round main event between Ciryl Gane and Jairzinho Rozenstruik.

As he often does after UFC events, the former light heavyweight champion took to Twitter to comment on the result. But this time around, he berated the fighters in the heavyweight division he will join soon, giving the verbal thumbs up to Gane and Rozenstruik after their lackluster five-round affair on Saturday.

Jones’ heavyweight debut has yet to be confirmed, but UFC president Dana White has said the ex-champion will win the winner of a UFC 260 title fight between the champion. Stipe Miocic and Francis Ngannou. The heavyweight fight is a rematch of a fight Miocic won by decision to hand Ngannou his first loss in the UFC.

‘Bones’ physical transformation was evident in social media posts showing the ex-champ lifting weights and training. Jones recently showed off a few moves in the cage and bragged that he moves “pretty well for a fat boy.”

There was one fighter amused by Jones’ jab on Saturday night – Ngannou, who had previously bristled at the suggestion that the ex-champion could steal his spot in the queue before White clarified he would get the next shot. title.

Ngannou did not immediately bounce back from his loss to Miocic, losing a lackluster decision to Derrick Lewis. But then he went on a tear, knocking out four straight opponents to secure another gold shot. Most recently, he stopped Rozenstruik in 20 seconds with a flurry of punches.

For Rozenstruik, the loss to Gane was his second loss in the Octagon and further delayed a title offer. Gane’s victory, however, also didn’t present a solid case for an impending title shot.

Jones made sure to point it out.
