Boebert criticized the new security measures on Capitol Hill after the riot, including metal detectors, as “just another political coup from President Pelosi”.

“I am legally allowed to carry my gun in Washington, DC and in the Capitol complex,” Boebert wrote on Twitter Tuesday. “The metal detectors outside the House would not have ended the violence we saw last week – it’s just another political coup from President Pelosi.”

She refused to allow police to search her bag after setting off metal detectors on Tuesday, Colorado Public Radio reported. Boebert had previously requested access to a gun locker from Captiol police, but was refused, the Colorado Times Recorder reported. Members are expected to limit the transport of firearms to their personal offices.
