The next HBO series, "Lovecraft Country," will continue to run in Georgia as planned, but will donate production money to two charities.
"Lovecraft Country" is produced by Jordan Peele and his banner Monkeypaw Productions, as well as by JJ Abrams and Bad Robot Producitons. Underground co-creator and host Misha Green will write and produce the series.
"In a few weeks, we will start filming our new series," Lovecraft Country ", alongside the women of Georgia," Monkeypaw and Bad Robot said in a statement. Governor Kemp's "Fetal Heartbeat" Abortion Law is an unconstitutional effort to further prevent women and their health care providers from making private medical decisions on their terms. Make no mistake, it is an attack aimed outright and deliberately on women. We stand alongside Stacey Abrams and the working people of Georgia. We will pay 100% of our respective episodic taxes for this season to two organizations leading the lawsuit against this draconian law: the Georgia ACLU and Fair Fight Georgia. We encourage those who are able to channel all resources to these organizations. "
Directors Jordan Peele and J.J. Abrams will not boycott filming in Georgia. The duo, who works in the state for the HBO series "Lovecraft Country", will instead pay funds to ACLU of Georgia and Fair Fight Georgia.

On Tuesday, Georgia Governor Brian Kemp signed HB 481, which would ban abortions after the detection of a fetal heartbeat. The bill provides exceptions in cases of rape and incest (only if a woman files a police report) or to save the mother's life. The law is expected to come into effect on January 1st. Since the bill was passed, Hollywood productions have been called to boycott the state.
"Lovecraft Country", based on Matt Ruff's eponymous book, follows Atticus Black, 25, who joins his friend Letitia "Leti" Dandridge and his uncle George on a road trip in the 1950s. Jim Crow America to find his father gone. They must survive and defeat both the racist terrors of the white America and the evil spirits that could be torn from a Lovecraft paperback.
HBO gave "Lovecraft Country" a direct order in May 2017.
