“No” is the most appropriate response to a looming puffy cloud with a flag banner fluttering underneath like a kite rope. This is what you wish every horror movie protagonist would say instead of walking down that dark hallway. It is not known what awaits the inhabitants of the small town under this ominous cloud, but Peele promises “a new terror”.

After achieving success in comedic spheres throughout his career, Peele continues to carve out an influential place in horror, becoming the first black writer to win the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay for his first film, Get out in 2018. Get out became an instant hit, extending into We, which Peele wrote. His production company, MonkeyPaw, helped create HBO’s hit supernatural horror series Lovecraft Country to life, as well as future fellow adaptation, which Peele wrote with Nia DaCosta. He also led the reboot of The twilight zone.

This will be Kaluuya’s second leading role in a production directed by Peele, next Get out. Since starring in Peele’s directorial debut, Kaluuya has starred in Black Panther, Queen & Slim, and the Oscar nominee Judas and the black Messiah, for which he won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor. Yeun himself had a stellar year, snatch a nomination for best actor for his role in A24 Threatening, becoming the first nominee for Best Asian-American Actor in Oscar history.

Rumors erupted earlier this year that Palmer could be the main villain in NO, but only time will tell if this is true. In recent years she has starred in horror series Scream Queens and Lorene Scafaria scammers, and has a lead role in the upcoming Disney movie Proud of the family the comeback.

NO is scheduled to premiere on July 22, 2022.
