Josef Sural, Czech footballer, died in a bus accident, confirms the club

The footballer was traveling in a private bus rented by the Turkish Super Lig team Aytemiz Alanyaspor, alongside six of his teammates when the accident occurred, the club announced in a tweet. He died in the hospital.

"Our Czech footballer, Josef Sural, was seriously injured when our private minibus carrying seven of our footballers had an accident after a return leg in Kayseri," the tweet reads.

"Despite all the efforts of the Alanya Anadolu private hospital, Sural could not be saved.It's resting in peace."

Former British international Stephen Caulker, former Newcastle United player Papiss Cisse, Angolan player Dlajma Campos, Brazilian defenders Baiano and Welinton and Ghana international Isaac Sackey, have announced alongside Sural, aged 28, the Turkish international Anadolu.

Sural, who was an attacker, joined Alanyaspor from Sparta Prague in January. He played 20 games for his country, including the last in the League of Nations defeat against Ukraine in October.

The Football Association of the Czech Republic said the news of Sural's death had brought "great sorrow", adding "we will never forget you".
