Josh Flagg, a leading agent and Million Dollar Listing star, moved from Rodeo Realty to Douglas Elliman, sources confirmed to The real deal.
The move is a coup for Elliman, who has stepped up his presence on the West Coast and in Texas.
Flagg, one of Los Angeles’ largest luxury brokers, declined to comment. It was not clear if he was taking his team. Douglas Elliman declined to comment.
Elliman, a long-time East Coast powerhouse, opened its first Los Angeles office in 2014 in Beverly Hills and now has more than a dozen offices in California, located as far south as San Diego and as far south as north than Montecito, in Santa Barbara County.
In April, the company expanded to Texas; it is also present in Colorado.
The company saw strong sales in a white-hot residential market: Earlier this month, Elliman reported second-quarter revenue of $ 392 million and net profit of $ 43 million. For the quarter, the brokerage recorded $ 15 billion in sales, a dramatic improvement of $ 10 billion from the same period a year earlier, at the height of the pandemic.
In a career spanning more than a decade, Flagg, 36, has made more than $ 2 billion in sales, according to his website. His contracts include a 9,000-square-foot mansion he closed last year in the Beverly Hills Flats area for $ 40 million, a record for the area. He sold homes to stars like Adam Levine, Shonda Rhimes and Steve Aoki, and represented the Getty family.
Flagg is an original actor on the Bravo hit “Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles”, which first aired in 2006.
At Elliman, Flagg will join another “MDL” star. In 2019, Frederik Eklund, the top broker and regular on the show, announced that he and his family were moving from New York to LA. Eklund has since established himself as one of Southern California’s top agents.
In April, Elliman’s New York office hired agent Christopher Riccio, who joined the company after making nearly half a billion dollars in sales from Leslie J. Garfield.
