Seahawks wide receiver Josh Gordon was conditionally reinstated last month, and the team expected him to return to the field before the end of the season. It didn’t happen, and now it may never happen.

Gordon’s conditional reinstatement has been quashed and he is once again suspended indefinitely, ESPN’s Field Yates reports.

There has been no word on what, precisely, led Gordon to be suspended again, but he would not have met all the conditions of his conditional reinstatement.

Gordon is one of football’s most talented receivers, but his drug addiction issues have derailed his career. He led the NFL in receiving yards in 2013, but in seven seasons since then, he’s only played 33 regular-season games while missing 79 games thanks to a series of long suspensions. Gordon last performed in December 2019.

Gordon, 29, has had a total of five suspensions during his NFL career.
