Josh Richardson tweets thanks to the Sixers organization after the exchange

Getting traded is never easy. Even if a player was only on a team for one season, that means he has to get up and move somewhere again.

For Josh Richardson, he will switch teams for the second straight season after the Philadelphia 76ers sent him to the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday in exchange for Seth Curry. It wasn’t like Richardson was a bad player during his time in Philadelphia, but he was just a bad fit and the Sixers needed more shooting.

Richardson’s first thoughts after the exchange were a bit shocking. It didn’t seem like he thought he would be moved and it was difficult for him on his part. On Thursday, he tweeted a thank you to the organization and the fans.

Richardson averaged 13.7 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.9 assists while shooting 34.1% from depth in his lone season in Philadelphia. The Mavericks could be a much better fit for him in the future, as he won’t be asked to do as much as he’s been asked with the Sixers.
