“I made it clear that the climate should be the main area of action for all of us,” Biden said in brief remarks before reporters were introduced, adding that his administration was planning to attend the next Conference of United Nations on Climate Change in Glasgow in November.
“We’re going to be there,” Biden said.
Biden said they plan to discuss further cooperation in Afghanistan and the Indo-Pacific. The United States, the United Kingdom and Australia announced a new Indo-Pacific security partnership last week that sparked the fury of France, the United States’ longest-standing ally.
Johnson thanked Biden for his recent decision to lift restrictions on vaccinated travelers coming to the United States and praised Biden’s speech to the UN on Tuesday morning.
“The most important thing today was your speech, Joe, at UNGA, where you pledged to help the world adapt to climate change, thus doubling the American commitment. It’s very important to us, ”Johnson said.
