The current US box office narrative, by default, is about Warner Bros. and his simultaneous releases – if only because he does so much. We have already seen How? ‘Or’ What Wonder Woman 1984 and The small things succeeded, and now WB has just released their third simultaneous HBO Max / theatrical release: Judas and the Black Messiah. Unfortunately for Shaka King’s drama Black Panthers, the film – although it appears to be the best of the three – had the worst opening. He landed a little over $ 2 million, just a hair’s breadth away The small things did this last weekend (his third on the charts).

In third place, still around $ 2 million, is The Croods: A New Age, which grossed over $ 48 million over 12 weeks. Now that sound like a lot, but that’s only because this COVID era has made us forget how much money movies once made (that’s not even half of what Croods made in the country). After that it is WW84, who continued The Croods since its release, but has only made $ 1.1 million this week (for a total of $ 41 million). Liam Neeson’s The sniper makes roughly the same amount, making it the last of the films on the list to win over $ 1 million.

The two big newcomers this week apart Judas and the Black Messiah were Robin Wright Earth and Kevin Macdonald’s Mauritanian. The former debuted at $ 940,000 and the latter opened at $ 163,000. And, as always, it’s worth pointing out that no movie is going to do really well at the box office (even after several months) because it’s not really safe to go to the movies and the federal government has done a bad job. by taking the necessary steps to help change that.
