Judge orders FBI to reveal more notes from Comey

A federal judge ordered the FBI to reveal additional excerpts from memos by former FBI director James Comey about his meeting with President Trump.

The FBI must cancel the names of the countries and world leaders mentioned in the conversations between Trump and Comey, Judge James Boasberg said Friday.

The decision comes in response to a CNN lawsuit.

In the memos, Comey tells a conversation with Trump about Michael Flynn, former presidential advisor for national security. According to Comey, Trump said he had "serious reservations" about Flynn's judgment and expressed frustration with Flynn's handling of call planning by world leaders.

Boasberg said the FBI's argument that the reduction of these parts would undermine national security is inadequate. However, he agreed to keep an essay in which the president speaks critically about a country.

"Given the statement and the context, the Court has no difficulty in following the link offered by the FBI between disclosure and breach of national security," wrote Boasberg.
