Judge: Vanessa Bryant Can Get Names Of MPs Who Shared Kobe Crash Photos | Launderer report

A federal judge has ruled Vanessa Bryant can obtain the names of four Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies who allegedly shared photos of the aftermath of the January 2020 helicopter crash that killed nine people, including her husband, Kobe , and his daughter, Gianna.

Richard winton of the Los Angeles Times reported the news, noting that US District Judge John F. Walter rendered the ruling on Monday.

Los Angeles County attorneys wanted to keep the names sealed in the lawsuit and suggested making them public could make MPs targets for hackers. They now have four days to appeal Monday’s decision.

“Sheriff Villanueva’s promise to publish [internal affairs bureau] The report after the conclusion of the investigation undermines the defendants’ alleged concern over the disclosure of the limited extracts at issue here, ”the judge wrote while ruling that knowledge of the police misconduct should be made available to the public.

It comes after Bryant requested that the names be posted on an Instagram post last month:

“Faced with an unimaginable scene of loss, as many as eight sheriff’s deputies at the crash site pulled out their personal cellphones and took photos of the dead children, parents and coaches,” said the trial of Bryant, by Jonathan lloyd from NBC Los Angeles. “The deputies took these photos for their own pleasure.”

The lawsuit, which seeks damages for negligence and invasion of privacy, also says lawmakers and firefighters shared the photos in an unauthorized manner.

The county said all photos shared have since been deleted.
