THACKERVILLE, Oklahoma – Julia Budd continues to feel at home in Oklahoma and once again stands out as one of the best featherweights in the world with her third consecutive title defense.

Budd (13-2 MMA, 7-0 BMMA) had no trouble convincing Olga Rubin (6-1 MMA, 4-1 BMMA) to give Rubin her first defeat. Budd's TKO arrived at 2:14 of the first round.

Then the champion called Leslie Smith, who won her return to Bellator earlier in the night, and asked for a fight in Japan for Rizin against Gabi Garcia, who weighs 100 pounds more than her.

The main competition for the featherweight title was the Bellator 224 main event at the WinStar World Casino in Thackerville, Okla. The main map was broadcast on Paramount and aired on DAZN after the preliminaries of MMA Junkie.

Budd started in the top 40 seconds, but had it partially blocked. Rubin tried to shoot left in the center, but Budd kicked again. Another high left shot glanced at Rubin's head, and Budd followed him with a blow to the body. A good kick up was partially blocked, and Budd came behind with a few punches and another kick.

Two minutes into the fight, Budd kicked the body and Rubin collapsed. Budd did not waste time picking her up, and she finished the TKO.
