RB Leipzig boss Julian Nagelsmann admitted he was ‘flattered’ to be linked with a move to Real Madrid, but played down speculation he could be the next man in the Bernabeu shelter .
Nagelsmann is reportedly on the shortlist to replace Zinedine Zidane, who has come under pressure this season after poor results.
Zidane has come under fire after a third-place team – with just ten men – threw their Real Madrid side out of the Copa Del Rey at the final leg of the 32.

Zidane has also come under criticism after Real Madrid have won one game of their last five games in all competitions.
This isn’t the first time Nagelsmann has been linked with a move to the La Liga giants – after sparking their interest in 2018 after an impressive season with Hoffenheim.
Speaking of the most recent ties to Real Madrid, Nagelsmann told Sky Sport Germany: “ There are definitely worse things to read.
“But I also know that the things written in the newspapers are not always true.

This is the second time the Leipzig boss has been linked with a Real Madrid takeover.
Nagelsmann turned down the opportunity to join Real Madrid in 2018, suggesting that a move to the Bernabeu would not have been the ‘right step’ to take in his career at the time.
The Leipzig boss, however, said he would be ready to speak with the club in the future, should they need a new manager.
“We had phone calls, but ultimately the one who decided was me,” he told Marca. “I thought it was not the right step to go to Real Madrid.
“I was one of the candidates and the list was not very long. For me it was important. I had a good conversation with Jose Angel Sanchez and we decided it was not the right step at the time.
“ We agreed that we could speak again in the future if Real Madrid needed a coach – and I was available. ”
Nagelsmann is a much sought-after manager, breaking in with Hoffenheim
RB Leipzig are currently second in the Bundesliga, four points behind Bayern Munich
Nagelsmann is a much sought-after manager – having established his credentials with Hoffenheim and Leipzig.
Nagelsmann became the youngest coach in Bundesliga history when he took charge of Hoffenheim in 2016 at the age of 28.
He even secured Champions League qualification for the first time in club history.
Following such success, the German was named RB Leipzig boss in June 2019 and led the club to a third place in his first season at the helm.
