Julianne Moore signed to produce and produce the drama "Lisey's Story" at Apple, Variety confirmed.
Apple gave the project a direct order of eight episodes. It is based on Stephen King's 2006 book of the same name. King will write the eight episodes of the series in addition to executive production, marking one of the few times this iconic writer has written for the screen. J.J. Abrams and Ben Stephenson of Bad Robot Productions will also be Executive Producers. Warner Bros. Television is the studio.
The series follows Lisey (Moore) two years after the death of her husband. The series explores a series of events that have brought her to face some amazing realities regarding her husband that she had repressed and forgotten about.
The series marks Apple's third project at Abrams and Bad Robot Productions, following direct orders for the "Little Voice" series, an executive product produced by Sara Bareilles and Jessie Nelson, and "My fame did I have such friends "by Jennifer Garner, writer and executive producer Karen Croner.
"Lisey's Story" will also be the lead role in Moore's historic career. She is known for her work in film, having been nominated for five Oscars during her career. She won the Oscar for Best Actress in 2015 for "Still Alice". His other notable film roles include "Boogie Nights", "The Hours", "Far From Heaven" and "The End of the Affair". by CAA, Management 360 and Edelstein Laird.
