Liverpool extended their unbeaten streak to seven games after a hard-fought draw at Manchester City on Sunday.
A Mohamed Salah penalty was canceled by Gabriel Jesus as the Reds stood to win a 1-1 draw at the Etihad.
The Premier League and the world champions sit out for a fortnight as the international break leaves Jurgen Klopp hoping his players will return to Kirkby unharmed.
And here we take a look at what changes the Reds boss could make in their next home fight against Leicester City in the Premier League.
Williams or Milner?
A switch forced almost certainly on Jurgen Klopp is at the back right.
Trent Alexander-Arnold is likely to miss a calf problem, with James Milner – his second half replacement at the Etihad – and Neco Williams vying to replace England.
Joel Matip has had a solid game against City and will have had two weeks to prepare for Leicester, and is the favorite to line up alongside Joe Gomez at center-back ahead of Nat Phillips and Rhys Williams.
At left-back Andy Robertson has big games ahead for Scotland but has been in impressive form to stay ahead of Kostas Tsimikas.
The midfield riddle
Klopp caught up to City with a 4-2-3-1 approach, but few would be surprised if Liverpool came back to a 4-3-3 given Leicester’s threat on the counterattack.
Jordan Henderson and Gini Wijnaldum have become mainstays in the midfield and are expected to start such an important game.
But there is a real waste in the last place. Naby Keita is in good shape and Curtis Jones has seen a lot of playing time recently, while Xherdan Shaqiri has become a real option.
Milner, if not required in defense, also has strong claims, although everything could be overlooked in Thiago Alcantara’s favor if the Spaniard regains his form after a knee problem.
Jota ready again
Up front, the international calendar could prompt Klopp to change his top three.
Roberto Firmino is with Brazil in South America for games against Venezuela and Uruguay, and could benefit from a bench due to the long trip.
Diogo Jota is therefore on hold, although Portugal’s matches against Andorra, France and Croatia are not the easiest.
Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah are expected to continue in the top three, with a rotation likely to occur during the Champions League clash with Atalanta days later.
Takumi Minamino and Divock Origi are probably stepping down for a spot on the bench.
