The A will try to keep up the Yankees this weekend as the two clubs meet for the second time in just over a week.
Last week in Oakland, the A made a sweep of all three Bronx Bombers games. Now they will try their luck at Yankee Stadium.
Sheldon Neuse, 24, will make his major league debut after being called by Triple-A Las Vegas on Thursday. Neuse will serve as the designated hitter and beat eighth of the order. In 126 Triple-A games this year, he reduced the .317 / .389 / .550 average with 27 home runs and 102 RBIs.
Robbie Grossman is ninth in the lineup and will take charge of the left field. Chad Pinder started on the right, finishing fifth. Receiver Josh Phegley takes sixth place.
Veterans Brett Anderson and CC Sabathia will face off to open the series. At the age of 31, Anderson is looking for his 11th win of the season, which is his highest level ever. He enters with an ERA 4.08 and 1.30 WHIP on 26 starts this year. He had trouble in his career against the Yankees, scoring a 0-6 record with an average of 6.86 test points in eight starts.
Sabathia, 39, finishes his last season in MLB. The native of Vallejo is 5-8 with an ERA of 4.99 and 1.41 WHIP in 19 starts. He has faced 32 times during his career, scoring 11-12 with a total of 4.66.
