The alleged attack on Jussie Smollett could be the subject of official legal proceedings, but the Chicago police have not yet had a new session. Empire actor as "new developments" appear on the surface.
While rumors circulate about the upcoming convening of a grand jury on what was once dubbed "potential hate crime" on Jan. 29, Windy City police said Sunday that they "can not confirm no detail, the investigation being still in progress ". A well-placed police source told Deadline that despite new and complicated evidence and requests for a new formal interview, Smollett did not make himself available "at the right time" for the investigators.
"There are a lot of questions that need to be answered, and a sense of frustration with the response from Smollett and his lawyers," the source said.
In the midst of signs that Smollett himself has become the subject of further investigation into the alleged assault that took place in the early hours of Jan. 29, the detectives want to know more about the actor's version that describes what happened that day on the streets of Chicago. -know "that he could have had, said the police source of the incident.
The widely condemned attack has already been described as a racist and homophobic fueled dam that left Smollett beaten, dipped in bleach and with a rope tied to the neck.
Jamal Lyon, a very openly gay interpreter in the Lee Daniels series, and Danny Strong, co-creator of Fox, is now in its fifth season, having had a first interview with the police a few hours after the alleged attack on last month.
Although Smollett is not currently considered an official suspect, the authorities are also looking to learn more about his private relations with Olabinjo and Abimbola Osundairo.
Chicago police had previously described the brothers as "potential suspects" in the attack and arrested them last week. Identified as people in the photos of "people of interest" in the Smollett case, both were detained without charge for 48 hours and released on the night of February 15.
Formerly Empire and more recently, at least one of the brothers is Smollet's personal trainer. The brothers and sisters of Osundario now cooperate "fully" with the authorities in the investigation of the aggression perpetrated nearly three weeks ago.
With this in mind, CPD spokesman Anthony Guglielmi turned to social media to draw attention to Smollett:
Although we are unable to confirm, deny or comment on the validity of informally reported information, the investigation has led to progress in this area and investigators have some follow-up to perform, including an interview with the individual. who reported the incident. pic.twitter.com/b9GgXbSUt9

After strongly denying the local media's suggestions that the attack would have been organized because Smollett was being wiped from film filmed in Chicago Empire, the Osundairos have been identified as having purchased a rope very similar to that hanging on Smollett's neck at a local hardware store in recent days.
Later yesterday, Guglielmi of the Chicago Police said: "We can confirm that the information received from people interviewed by the police earlier in the day Empire The case actually changed the trajectory of the investigation. He then added, "We have asked the Empire Distribution Agent's solicitor to request a follow-up interview. "
"As a victim of a hate-motivated crime that collaborated in the police investigation, Jussie Smollett is angry and devastated by recent reports that perpetrators are people with whom he is familiar." Chicago's defense attorneys, Todd S. Pugh and Victor P., recently hired Henderson later proclaimed last night. "Jussie and his lawyers anticipate that the Chicago Police Department will provide additional information on the state of progress of the investigation and will continue to cooperate," lawyers also said.
Speaking on camera with Hello America On February 14, during his first interview since what had really happened on Jan. 29, Smollett had bluntly stated that he thought the attack had taken place because of his highly publicized critics at with respect to President Donald Trump and his policy. "I'm really really strong against 45," said the actor GMA co-host Robin Roberts. "I'm really strong against his administration and I do not speak the language."

"Superintendent Johnson made it clear from the first day that Jussie was a victim," the statement said.
Everything has become a little less clear since, clearly.
