Since news of Larry King’s death broke on Saturday, fans have revisited some of the most memorable interview clips from the 87-year-old broadcaster’s career spanning over 60 years, including 25 years as a host from CNN. Larry King Live. One clip in particular got a lot of attention: a 2007 interview with Jerry Seinfeld in which the comedian, there to promote his animated film Bee movie, seemed baffled by King’s suggestion that his hit sitcom Seinfeld could have been canceled. (As Seinfeld noted in the viral interview, he chose to end the popular NBC show on a positive note.

“You gave up, right? King asked. “You canceled them, they didn’t cancel you.”

“Don’t you know about this?” Seinfeld responded, as King held his ground. “Do you think I’ve been canceled?” Do you feel like I’ve been canceled? I thought it was pretty well documented. Is it still CNN?

Seinfeld continued to playfully persist, “[When] I got off the air, I was the number one show on TV, Larry. Do you know who I am? “

“Jewish guy. Brooklyn, ”King joked in response.

As his rant against King once again toured in the hours following King’s death, Seinfeld took to social media to pay homage to him and set the record straight. According to the former sitcom star, it was all a lot of fun.

“The ‘undone’ part was just that I’m having fun with his little mistake,” Seinfeld wrote. “Nothing more. Or less.”

He added that he will “miss” the veteran broadcaster.

Seinfeld isn’t the only star from her ’90s sitcom who appeared to run into King mid-interview. A 2013 interview with her former co-star Julia Louis-Dreyfus, who defended herself against the claim that she had a ‘man’s name’, resurfaced last month.

Meanwhile, Larry King’s three sons – Larry Jr., Cannon and Chance – have released a statement expressing their grief over the death of the veteran TV host. King’s son Andy and daughter Chaia passed away last summer, less than a month apart.

“We are heartbroken by the death of our father and, along with our extended family, mourn his passing,” the statement said. “The whole world knew Larry King as a great broadcaster and interviewer, but to us he was ‘dad’. He was the man who was lovingly obsessed with our daily schedule and well-being, and who took immense pride in our accomplishments – big, small or imagined. And, through it all, we knew without a doubt in the world that he loved us more than life itself. He was an amazing father, and he was fiercely loyal to those who were lucky enough to call him a friend. He will be missed every day of our lives.

They then thanked those who shared their father’s memories and directed donations to the American Heart Association and the Beverly Hills Fire Department EMS.
