Zack Snyder’s Justice League is coming out on HBO Max soon and a teaser clip of Superman in black suit by Henry Cavill has been released in HD.
An HD clip of Superman in his black suit has been posted by Zack Snyder Justice League. The four-hour version of Snyder’s original vision is gearing up for release on HBO Max in March. The director teased what’s in store for the movie, including a fleshed-out backstory for Victor Stone, AKA Cyborg, and a new look for Jared Leto’s Joker.
With a few more hours to fill and Snyder temporarily back in the DCEU, the director has promised plenty of surprises for the film. Snyder’s vision for the DCEU, which he helped start in 2013 Steel man, was compromised after his departure Justice League in 2017. Fans campaigned to give him the green light to complete his original vision, but DC Films made it clear they were no longer interested.
Luckily for fans of the director, Snyder will at least be able to complete his true vision for Justice League and that has always included the black Superman costume. Justice Con posted the clip, originally released last summer, in Full HD. The clip shows Superman arriving at Bruce Wayne’s estate, surprising Alfred. Superman says: “I guess you must be Alfred, “before the clip turns black.
Snyder tried to squeeze into the black suit in its original post-production cut, but his departure made it impossible. Executives of Warner Bros. weren’t fans of the black suit, even though its comic book creator gave his approval. The studio’s reluctance to the black suit is odd, especially since it conforms to the very comic book arc the suit came out of. When Superman is resurrected after his death at the hands of Doomsday, he returns in the black suit.
Snyder said the suit itself was important to the overall arc he had in mind for Cavill’s Superman. According to Snyder, there was a five-movie plan that would see Cavill’s Superman become the idealized version of the character. The black suit was used to highlight the evolution of the character, from his more humble beginnings in Steel man through its period of darkness Justice League, ending up as what Snyder calls “the classic superman“Sadly, that arc will likely never come to fruition, as Snyder’s time at the DCEU has been cut short. Snyder’s Justice League At least give fans a bit of that arc, but it’s also going to be a reminder of everything that has ever happened.
