Ray Fisher has confirmed that his character, Cyborg, has been removed from the upcoming DC Comics film on The Flash.
Fisher played Cyborg in the 2017 film “Justice League” and was set to reprise her role again in a Flash-focused standalone film by Ezra Miller. However, after months of feuds with WarnerMedia bosses over the alleged mistreatment of director Joss Whedon and other executives, Fisher said on Twitter that he would never work with DC film president Walter Hamada again.
Despite his bold wordsFisher noted that he disagreed with the decision to remove it from the untitled movie The Flash.
“I have received official confirmation that Warner Bros. Pictures has decided to withdraw me from the cast of The Flash,” he wrote in a long statement Wednesday. “I totally disagree with their decision, but it’s a decision that is not surprising.”

In June 2020, Fisher called Whedon, who was brought in to handle “Justice League” covers after Zack Snyder was forced to retire from post-production. Fisher called Whedon’s on-set treatment of the cast and crew “rude, abusive, unprofessional and utterly unacceptable.”
In August, WarnerMedia announced it was launching a third-party investigation into the allegations of Fisher’s unprofessional behavior, which now included producers Jon Berg and Geoff Johns, who served as co-chairs of DC Films’ Warners division.
In December, WarnerMedia announced that it had concluded its investigation and noted that “corrective action” had been taken. However, he would not explain what that action was.
In his latest reprimand from the studio heads, Fisher claims Hamada obstructed the investigation in a bid to protect Johns while throwing Whedon and Berg under the bus.

Fisher says he spoke for nearly an hour on the phone with Hamada in July 2020 to convince him that Johns was a major contributor to the negative experience he had with remaking “Justice League,” but says that the head of the studio did all he could to cover up Johns despite his “blatant racism” allegations.

“Despite Walter’s best efforts, the Justice League investigation was able to uncover the racist, coercive, discriminatory and retaliatory behavior of Geoff Johns during his tenure with WarnerMedia affiliates. It also led to a more immediate separation between WarnerMedia and Joss Whedon, “Fisher wrote in his lengthy Twitter statement. “While it may be legally and financially safer to quietly eliminate Geoff Johns, or let Joss Whedon ‘come out’ on his own – I do not share any of those responsibilities.”
The star went on to say that what he went through shouldn’t have happened and that it exposes the ‘current Hollywood cover-up culture’.
“I contend that Walter Hamada is unfit for a managerial position – and I am prepared, at any time, to submit to a polygraph test to substantiate my claims against him,” Fisher wrote. “I don’t know how many examples of workplace abuse Walter tried to cover up in the past, but I hope the Justice League investigation will be the last.”

He concluded by saying that he would gladly pay the price of never reproducing Cyborg’s character again if that means exposing Hamada’s actions.
In a statement to the Hollywood Reporter Thursday, WarnerMedia President and CEO Ann Sarnoff backed Hamada into the fray.

“I believe in Walter Hamada and that he did not prevent or interfere with the investigation,” she said. “In addition, I have full confidence in the process and the conclusions of the investigation. Walter is a highly respected leader, known to his colleagues, peers and myself as a man of great personality and integrity. I am excited to know where he is taking DC Films and look forward to working with him and the rest of the team to build the DC Multiverse. “
