Bieber today posted a screenshot of Wallen’s song “Sand In My Boots” on his Instagram Story with the caption “I love this album”. Within hours, however, Bieber had deleted the post and replaced it with a three-slide apology. “I had no idea that the guy’s music I posted had recently been found making racist comments because you know I don’t support or condone any kind of racism or discrimination,” Bieber wrote. “I had no idea, I sincerely apologize to anyone I have offended.”

Bieber himself fell into hot water a few years ago when videos of a teenage Biebs saying the N word surfaced online. He acknowledged this story in his Instagram apology, saying:

When I was a kid I was incredibly ignorant and told some really hurtful racist jokes that clearly weren’t funny. I have hurt a lot of people, especially black people in my life, but I have been fortunate enough to see them educate me about the horrific origins of the n word. It brings back those painful memories, I’ll always be responsible for my ignorance and my past because I know I’m not that person. I know I’ve apologized for this before, but knowing that this is such a sensitive issue, I think it’s important to talk about it to hopefully educate people who may be ignorant. on the subject of racism and how hurtful it is.

“I have so much more to learn and I am grateful to my black siblings for being patient with me as I have a long way to go,” Bieber’s apology concluded.

Elsewhere on his Instagram story, Bieber lamented that the media always uses bad old photos of him in his skeevy mustache phase: “I’m still in shock, we’re still using these photos of me, I’m telling you the media want picking the wrong photos of me to make it look like I’m not doing well… There have been countless photo ops and opportunities [sic] for the media to take more pictures, but they still use this one to make me look sick and sick, that’s not good.
