Justin Bieber spoke candidly on Saturday about his arrest for DUI in 2014, telling fans how far he has come since.

“Seven years ago today, I was arrested, it’s not my best time,” the 26-year-old pop star began on Instagram, posting a photo of himself in handcuffs.

“I am not proud of where I am in my life. I was hurt, unhappy, confused, angry, misled, misunderstood and angry with God. I also wore too much leather for someone in Miami, ”Bieber continued.

In January 2014, Bieber was arrested in Miami after allegedly driving a yellow Lamborghini under the influence. In August of that year, Bieber agreed to plead reckless driving and resisting arrest without charges of violence. The “lone” crooner also agreed to take an anger management course and make a charitable donation of $ 50,000.

Bieber added on Saturday that he had relied on faith through difficult times.

“All this to say that God has brought me a long way. From that point on I realize something… God was as close to me as he is now, ”Bieber wrote.

“I encourage you to ‘let your past remind you of how far God has taken you. Don’t let shame ruin your “today”, let Jesus’ forgiveness take over and watch your life blossom into all that God has designed for you. LOVE YOU GUYS WITH MY WHOLE HEART, ”the singer continued.

In response to this heartfelt message, Bieber received many wishes from famous friends.

“We live and learn,” commented Tom Brady.

“Proud of you,” Scooter Braun replied.

Bieber’s wife Hailey Baldwin also “liked” the singer’s post.
