When asked by Ellen how many children he and Baldwin were planning to have, Bieber replied, “I’m going to have as many as Hailey wants out of.”
“I would love to have a small tribe myself, but yeah, that’s their body and all they want to do,” he continued, noting that Baldwin, “wants to have a few.
The 26-year-old “Holy” singer said there was no sort of a “hold-up”, it’s just that 24-year-old Baldwin isn’t “ready” yet.
“There’s not really a problem,” Bieber explained. “But I think Hailey still has things that she wants to accomplish as a woman, and I think … she just isn’t ready yet. I think it’s okay.”
Ellen applauded Bieber’s response, before saying that he will one day be “such a great” dad.
Bieber shared similar sentiments when he appeared on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” in March. During a game of “Burning Questions”, the “lone” crooner said that Baldwin ultimately had to decide how many children he had.
“I think it’s Hailey because it’s her body,” he said at the time.
Bieber and Baldwin, who said “yes” for the first time in September 2018, have expressed their desire to become parents in the past.
“I want to start my own family in due time,” Bieber told Apple Music’s Zane Lowe in February. “I want to enjoy being married a little, going on tour, being married, enjoying traveling with us, building our relationship more. I think this is definitely the next step for sure.
A year earlier, in February 2019, Baldwin told Vogue that she did not see herself having children “for at least two years.”
