Justin fields might not have played for Urban Meyer at Ohio State … but the ex-Buckeyes star says he has no doubts the coach will be successful in Jacksonville.
The quarterback just landed in LA at LAX this week … and when we asked him about the new Jags boss – the 21-year-old had nothing but praise for the coach.
“Coach [Ryan] day recruited me [to Ohio State] but I mean I’ve heard great things about Coach Meyer and the way he coaches, ”says Field.
“So I wouldn’t be surprised if he had a big hit in Jacksonville.”
Of course, there’s a chance Fields will end up playing for Urban next season … just Justin declared for the project and Meyer has the first overall pick.
Most think Urban will take the Clemson star Trevor Lawrence, above Fields … but when we asked Justin if he thought he was the best prospect, he certainly seemed to think so.
“I’m not going to showcase what I think makes me better because I don’t want to cause controversy,” says Fields. “But, of course, you have confidence that you are the best player in the country.”
As for Fields’ pandemic draft plans … Justin tells us the party will have to be low key this year – even if Meyer ends up ranking him No.1 overall.
