Justin Thomas’ hot moment hit him in the wallet.
Ralph Lauren Corp. said on Friday he was giving up on one of the top golfers after he was heard mumble a homophobic slur last weekend at a tournament in Hawaii. Ralph Lauren has been a sponsor of Thomas since turning pro. He was the No. 1 golfer in the world and won a major at 24.
“We believe in the dignity of all people, regardless of age, race, gender identity, ethnicity, political affiliation or sexual orientation,” the company said in a statement. “Reflecting on the responsibility we have to all of our stakeholders, we have decided to end our sponsorship of Mr. Thomas for now.

“While we recognize that he apologized and recognizes the harshness of his words, he is a paid ambassador of our brand and his actions conflict with the inclusive culture we strive to uphold.”
Thomas was heard mumbling the f-word slur on the fourth hole after missing an au pair chance and settling for a bogey in the third round of the Sentry Open.
“It’s inexcusable. I, first of all, I apologize,” he told reporters after the round. “I mean, there’s no excuse. I’m an adult. I’m a grown man, there’s absolutely no reason for me to say something like that.”
