Justin Timberlake and Ant Clemons performed their new song “Better Days” as part of the Celebrating America special in honor of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris’ inauguration. After kicking off at one of the Stax studios, they were joined on the street by a full band and choir. Take a look at it all below.

At midnight tonight, a new version of the song featuring Clemons, Timberlake and Kirk Franklin will arrive on the streaming services. Timberlake and Clemons previously performed “Better Days” at Stacey Abrams’ Rock the Runoff virtual concert in December.

“The fact that the Stax Museum and the Stax Music Academy were chosen by Justin Timberlake, Ant Clemons and the Presidential Inauguration Committee to represent Memphis, Tennessee at the 2021 Presidential Inauguration speaks volumes about the power, the magic and timelessness of soul music, but also throws a brilliant light on the work we have been doing here at the Soulsville Foundation for over 20 years now, ”said Soulsville Foundation President and CEO Richard Greenwald in a press release “We are grateful to our friend Justin Timberlake for accepting our mission and our sincere concern for the young people we work with every day.”

Other performers on the opening day included Bruce Springsteen, Foo Fighters, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Demi Lovato, John Legend and The Reunited New Radicals.
