Justin Timberlake took the time to thank his wife, Jessica Biel, as she struggled to suffer the repercussions of her vaccine activism.
Timberlake, 38, was inducted Thursday night into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. During his speech, he devoted a moment to focusing on Biel, 37, according to a report by Us Weekly.
"To my wife, who is here tonight and who has made me the most beautiful gift of love," Timberlake said. "Our son is now four years old and he is also taking drugs! I have written so many songs because of what I am so proud of and I … I am extremely humble. I hope to be able to represent this award for you all. Biel sparked a vaccine debate following his arrival at California State House with vaccine skeptic Robert F. Kennedy Jr. protesting a bill that would limit the number of medical exemptions available for vaccines.
Biel then explained that she was not necessarily anti-vaccine, but she felt that families and doctors should have a choice in each individual case.
"I am not against vaccinations. I encourage children to get vaccinated and families who have the right to make informed medical decisions about their children, alongside their doctors, "Biel said on Instagram.
"My concern with # SB276 is with medical exemptions only," said Biel.
