Carolina Hurricanes captain Justin Williams was known for his two-way play and his durability in Washington.
This resistance was helpful on Thursday night when he scored a goal off of his face.
Video
Williams parks just to the right of Panthers goaltender James Reimer, and when Brett Pesce passes him a point, he takes it by the throat.
The aerial shot shows that Williams is trying to turn his head.
Williams falls immediately on the ice and returns to the bench. No celebration purpose is embraced here.
Williams came back to the Carolina bench a few minutes after her nose stopped bleeding, of course.
