Two Big Ten basketball coaches went crazy in “March Madness” on Friday in Michigan’s basketball win over Maryland.
Michigan coach Juwan Howard has been sent off and Maryland coach Mark Turgeon charged with a technical foul after a screaming game in the second half of the Wolverines Big Ten tournament quarterfinal game against the Terrapins at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Turgeon and Howard had to be separated by coaches and players shortly after a media timeout with 10:44 left in the second half and Michigan 10.
Howard seemed to be asking or shouting something towards Turgeon’s bench, pulling an animated response from Turgeon. The coaches gathered near the scoring table and were quickly joined by a handful of Wolverines, Terps and officials.
It appears that once officials let Howard know he would be deported, he got even more angry. Howard’s assistants had to hold him back near center court as he made a few advances towards the Maryland bench.
Friday’s game marked the first time Howard has been kicked out of his Michigan head coach job.
Big Ten Network reporter Rick Pizzo told the show that at the start of the timeout, Howard appeared to be pointing his head, asking his players to “use your head” as they walked to the bench. from Maryland.

Pizzo reported that something was then said to Howard from the Maryland sideline, which apparently triggered him.
Turgeon received a technique but stayed in the game as Michigan pulled out for the win, 79-66.
