Musgraves will release a 50 minutes Star crossed film on Paramount + on September 10. The film is directed by Bardia Zeinali and stars Musgraves, with cameos by Eugene Levy, Princess Nokia and others. “We wanted it to be cinematic and epic without compromising heart and emotion,” Zeinali said in a statement, “to feel fantastic and elated and tell her story through the prism of art and fashion” . According to a press release, Musgraves recorded Star crossed in Nashville earlier this year in just under three weeks. The album is described as “a modern day tragedy in three acts” which “chronicles an extremely personal journey of grief and healing”.
After winning the Grammy for Album of the Year for Golden hour, Musgraves contributed a new song called “All Is Found” for the Frozen 2 soundtrack and hosts its own Christmas special for Amazon. Last year she gave a new twist to Golden hour‘s “Oh, what a world” for Earth Day.
