Kaitlyn Bristowe claims Greg Grippo “wanted to stop” Bachelorette

Bachelor Nation is still coming back down from the intense rift between Katie Thurston and Greg Grippo during Monday night’s episode of The bachelorette, which, in case you missed it, was a huge mess. TLDR, Greg told Katie he loved her and reacted suuuuuper badly when she was unable to return her feelings to him. And although Katie a) explained that she waited to say “I love you” until there was only one man left standing, and b) tried to reassure Greg in several other ways, he ended up leaving. Like, in a very dramatic way. To the point where Katie apparently called him for lighting it on gas.

Which brings us to Bachelorette co-host Kaitlyn Bristowe, who opened up about Greg leaving on the “Click Bait” podcast (via Us weekly). “I actually didn’t really know how it all happened until I looked back at him. I was just hearing Katie’s version and she was really, like, self-mocking about it,” a- she declared. “I feel like she wasn’t angry at the time. She wasn’t like, ‘Oh, Greg turned me on.’… She was sort of like, ‘I don’t. don’t know what happened. ‘ … I felt bad for Greg until I looked back at him.

Kaitlyn went on to say, “Could Katie have, like, been a little more responsive when he said these things?” Sure. But the way he responded to that, I thought it was bullshit. ”

“There are lists, there are roses, there are placements,” Kaitlyn added. “She reassured him so much the whole show.”

She also speculated that Greg just wanted to quit the show and now was the time for him to do so: “This is The bachelorette. She can’t really return the favor if she can’t validate it until the end. And I think he just wanted to quit before he was fired. I think his ego was so hurt at that point that he was like, ‘I’m just going to turn this shit over and get out of here.’ “

Uh, someone else more ready than usual for the After the final rose special?
