Former The bachelorette star Kaitlyn Bristowe’s trip to Dancing with the stars the semi-finals were not easy. This weekend she had a tough rehearsal with her professional partner Artem Chigvintsev as they performed a dance that will serve as a tribute to a late childhood friend. Bristowe, 35, also showed off the bumps and bruises she suffered in preparation for Monday’s episode.
On Saturday, Bristowe told fans she had prepared a “very emotional dance” for Monday, reports Us weekly. The dance is a tribute to a friend who died at the age of 18. Bristowe said she “often cried” when she thought of her friend and said the song she had chosen was played at her friend’s funeral. This will be the first time Bristowe has shared her late friend’s story on TV because she never wanted to “use it” in her celebrity life. “I’m not saying people do that, [but] it was just something that I held a bit close to my heart, ”Bristowe said.
Bristowe said her friend’s death had him “so much closer” to another friend, Bri Cook. “At first it made me want to not be close to anyone anymore, but now it makes me love my friends so much,” Bristowe recalls. She also praised Chigvintsev for doing a “great job” in telling her friend’s story.
Rehearsals continued on Sunday, with less than 24 hours before the duo returned to the dance floor. Bristowe shared a video of herself lip-syncing with Handsome Dancer’s “Coincidence” as she shared a look at scabs on her knee, blisters on her heel and a bandaged toe. “Wow, you can really hurt yourself while dancing. What a coincidence, ”she wrote in the caption.
Bristowe, who also injured his ankle earlier in the season, and Chigvintsev scored a perfect 30 on their Argentine tango to Britney Spears’ “Toxic”. The score came after a week of questioning over judge Carrie Ann Inaba’s difficult scoring of the couple. Fans weren’t happy when the duo got a 25/30 on the November 2 episode, and Chigvintsev said Entertainment tonight he thinks the judges’ remarks are “a bit personal”. However, after Inaba praised the two on November 9, they briefly forgot about coronavirus safety guidelines and rushed to give her a hug.
During a recent episode of her Out of the vineyard podcast, Bristowe defended Inaba and said DWTS fans not to intimidate him. “I heard that she feels bullied and it makes me feel so bad because I have been bullied so violently online,” she said. “Don’t go bully her for being tough on me.” It’s her decision and she’s a judge.
