Kamala harrisHer husband’s accomplishments are out of the ordinary – District Attorney, Attorney General, Senator and soon to be Vice President, but the point is – according to her husband – she’s a normal person who really loves his Chucks!
Harris and her husband, Doug Emhoff, were roasted by Jane pauley on “Sunday Morning” about his fondness for the Converse Chucks. She wore them a lot during the election campaign and Jane looked genuinely disappointed that Kamala had chosen something more formal for the interview.
Jane wanted to know when that was becoming a thing, and Harris said it wasn’t just something she started wearing on the campaign or, for that matter, on the cover of Vogue.
She explained that Chucks has been a part of her life forever. Harris says she likes them because they are so comfortable.
Then Doug stepped in, saying Chucks is a marker of who she is, adding that when they met Kamala, it was all about Chucks and jeans.
But then Doug had a little problem suggesting that Kamala has closets full of Chucks. The Veep-Elect crushed that. No Imelda Marcos for her!!!
Doug recently opened his official Twitter account as Second Gentleman.
BTW … they met on a blind date and got married later in 2014. Doug broke all the rules after meeting her, calling the next day and offering his availability for future dates.
