Well, this conversation seems to have ended.
Sanders had said that those convicted of sexual assault and crimes like terrorism – such as the bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, of the Boston Marathon – should be able to vote so that the United States can maintain a "vibrant democracy" and increase the participation rate.
On Tuesday, while she was speaking to a group of journalists in New Hampshire, Harris expanded his remarks to CNN's mayor and gave what his national press secretary, Ian Sams, described as "thoughtful answer".
Harris described as complex the issue of allowing criminals to vote in jail and said she was going to "talk to experts" about it.
She added that there was "a lot of work to be done" concerning 6 million people currently in prison without the right to vote.
