Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., S was pronounced in favor of the ban on plastic straws Wednesday during CNN's City Hall Marathon focused on climate change.
When asked what she would do as president to reduce the country's dependence on "single-use plastics," Harris pointed to the "images" of plastic bags and bottles found in the ocean and celebrated the ban on plastic bags by California.
"I think we need to create incentives," said Harris at CNN's anchor, Erin Burnett. "We have seen innovation happen when leaders lead."

Burnett then explained how much the ban on plastic straws is a "big deal" and asked him if people should ban him.
"I think we should, yes," replied Harris. "Listen, I'm going to be honest … It's really hard to drink with a paper straw … so we have to do a little bit more about that."
She added, "Innovation is a process, is not it?" You do not do it simply. "Innovation is a process, but you know, encourage innovation. I think we can do a little better than these fragile plastic straws, but we need to ban plastics. "
