Ella Emhoff, the daughter-in-law of Vice President Kamala Harris, made her surprise catwalk debut Thursday after becoming a fashion hit at the January presidential inauguration.

“For a long time when I was younger I wanted to be a designer,” she told CNN, “then I took it a little more seriously, I started taking classes at Central Saint Martins for two summers… It definitely exposed me to the intensity of design school. “
On her Instagram page, Emhoff is holding a raffle to win pink striped pants she knitted, with the proceeds going to two charities that provide services to black transgender women, For The Gworls and Okra Project.
