Waived: Cornell Powell, Maurice Ffrench, Darrius Shepherd and Dalton Schoen.

Posted: Marcus Kemp and Gehrig Dieter.

For some, rookie WR Cornell Powell’s waiver will be a huge surprise. If you follow Chiefs Wire, you’ll know he’s in roster bubble danger from training camp. The preseason hasn’t helped his case either.

Marcus Kemp’s release may come as a big surprise, but he should be back on the 53-man roster after being transferred to the injured reserve for some offensive linemen. As an acquired veteran, he is not subject to exemptions.

Chiefs fans will be happy to hear that Daurice Fountain made the 53-player roster. He was a former rookie minicamp essay. He worked his way to rehearsals with the first and second teams during training camp and preseason. It’s a well-deserved opportunity for him.
