Brad Keselowski battled Alex Bowman, Erik Jones, Chase Elliott and Clint Bowyer in NASCAR overtime to win his third race of the season and his 30th career. It's his second win at Kansas Speedway.
The champion of the series of the 2012 series did not have the strongest car yet. Along with his team leader, Paul Wolfe, he used his strategy and put himself in the position of winning. He was 8 to 1 to win according to Westgate.
While Keselowski gave credit to his team and fans, he dedicated the win to his mentor Mike Mittler, who died earlier in the week after cancer-related complications. Before the race, NASCAR paid tribute to Mittler, who had kicked off several drivers such as Keselowski, including Carl Edwards, Jamie McMurray and Regan Smith.
Bowman had another career night for Hendrick Motorsports, leading 63 laps and finishing second for a third consecutive race. It was sold at a relatively low price of $ 7,000 on DraftKings.
Kevin Harvick took control of the pole and had no trouble winning the first stage. The No. 4 car led 55 of the first 80 laps, leaving only the lead after pit stops. It's the third stage win of the season for Harvick, who places him behind Kyle Busch and Joey Logano, who lead the series with five.
Chase Elliott fought Harvick for the first leg and went on to carry the green and white checkered flag after being retrained as the race leader. It was Elliott 's second stage victory.

Step 1: Kevin Harvick shows his speed
Kevin Harvick left pole and had no problem driving early because the cars that failed the inspection negotiated their way across the field. Chase Elliott and Joey Logano were among the notable drivers who placed in the top 15 in the early laps before the caution on lap 30.
Just before the scheduled yellow was thrown, William Byron pioneered his way up to second place, four seconds from Harvick. NASCAR put up the deposit before the race because of the rain in the area the night before. This allowed the drivers and teams to feel the runway before making the first adjustments.
The majority of the peloton opted for two pit road tires while Harvick chose four. Byron won the race off pit pit while Harvick jumped to 10th.
Harvick was apparently hit by a gun during the restart, almost instantly to third, while his teammate Bowyer was in the lead. Harvick – on his new tires – was quick to come back in the lead pack.

Step 2: Chase Elliott Capitalizes on a Solid Green Flag Stand
Kurt Busch took two tires between the stages and took over Harvick, who took four. Denny Hamlin overcame an early discomfort and got the free pass under yellow, which allowed him to resume the main round.
Busch gave Harvick a battle for about seven laps, but it was finally car # 4 that took over. A few laps later, Elliott climbed to second place under Harvick.
Martin Truex Jr. scored 39 pit stops with a green flag and leader Harvick followed shortly thereafter. Various riders, ranging from Chris Buescher to Ricky Stenhouse Jr., chose to stay out and share the wire as Harvick and Elliott recycle through the field.
The out-door strategy nearly paid off as Truex found itself at the back of Suarez as No. 41 approached the pit lane. Fortunately, the Suarez team and the lapped cars were saved before disappearing.
After all, it was Elliott who became the leader of the race after Harvick complained of control problems in 4th place. Harvick stayed in the back, while Elliott moved aside to win his second leg of the season.

Last step: things get wild
Elliott stopped slowly between the stages and was forced to start again in seventh position while Harvick took advantage and took the lead. Ryan Blaney took two tires in yellow and resumed racing alongside Harvick in first place, falling in second place under the green.
The two-tire strategy allowed Blaney to make his way through the field while Harvick had no problem leading the race ahead of Alex Bowman. Harvick then began complaining of a problem on the right side of his car that required him to take advantage within 90 of the match. This gave Bowman an edge.
Harvick's problem turned out to be a dirt on the grill … It recycled as the first car of the main ride.
As Bowman began to leave the field, Kyle Busch seized the opportunity and moved to second place. After a quick fright, the cluttered traffic helped # 88 to separate before the green flag stalls stopped.
The green-flagged stands turned into yellow flags after Ryan Newman's crew let a tire roll into the grass infield, bringing out the caution and dramatically upsetting the race as it entered. in its final phase.
At the time of the warning, only eight cars were on the tour, as they made regular stops. Kyle Larson received the free pass, while Kyle Busch went through too many stands at the entrance and had to leave at the end of the longest line. Busch was out of the pit lane ahead of Bowman and was in a position to start again in front of the leader of the race.
It took a while for NASCAR to understand, but 22 cars took the lead, allowing 13 drivers to start on the first lap with 40 laps to go. Bowman led the pack in green ahead of Elliott, Buescher, Stenhouse and Bowyer.
Elliott got off to a good start and got Bowman to take the lead. The two men then engaged in a fierce battle before Ryan Blaney rubbed the wall and saw his rear panel undone. Blaney took it to the pits but not before NASCAR issued the caveat warning. This allowed Harvick to come back in the lead.
Things went awry at the restart as Elliott and Bowman battled for the lead, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. pulled a page from Talladega Nights and crossed the finish line in front of the two for first place. Elliott then detached and folded into the pack. Shortly after, Bowman ran and passed Stenhouse in the lead. So out of nowhere, Jimmie Johnson carved a top-five spot with four new tires while Bowman, Keselowski and Jones ran ahead of him.
Between the last 10 laps, it was Bowman against Keselowski, while both cars were sneaking into the traffic. Keselowski won the battle, but the war continued when Matt DiBenedetto issued the warning four laps from the end. This sent the race to overtime.
Stenhouse, Bowyer, Larson and Harvick all come under the yellow to get new tires while Keselowski, Jones, Bowman, Johnson and Elliott stay out. This set up a restart with the five aforementioned pilots at the front of the pack.
Keselowski controlled the recovery and defeated Bowman, Jones, Elliott and Bowyer to win the race.
